It is also called as inventory buffers.  It could either be inventory of finished goods or that of work-in-progress.  Finished Goods Replenishment module provides you with all the necessary details to manage supermarket pull sequences of finished goods. To synchronize with distribution chain  or  to maintain a healthy inventory buffer,  all you need to do is to schedule backwards for finite capacity with required delivery dates & time.    Supermarket also means inventory of materials  &  parts pulled from supplier locations and from upstream processes. This information is provided by Material Replenishment module. Also provides 'order by date' to synchronize with the supply chain.
